Tickets for rural media’s night of nights now on sale

As judges comb through 298 entries from 78 newsrooms, the Rural Press Club of Victoria is today delighted to launch ticket sales for its annual 2024 Rural & Regional Journalism & Photography Awards presentation dinner.

RPCV president Bryce Eishold said there had been some big changes implemented in the awards program since 2023, and early feedback from judges indicates some formidable entries this year.

“From this impressive pack of entries, winners will be announced at our annual gala dinner which is a fitting celebration of the role the media plays in rural communities,” Bryce said.

This year the function will be held in Bendigo, continuing the club’s commitment to hosting the awards in regional Victoria.

“Our previous events in Ballarat and Geelong have been hugely successful, and we look forward to taking the celebration to Bendigo next month.”

The club is again working to offer accommodation discounts for those travelling to the event.

Tickets cost $120 for members and $145 for non-members, inclusive of a three-course meal with drinks included.

“I strongly encourage anyone who wants to support the media’s role in connecting and informing rural and regional communities to make tracks for Bendigo on October 11.”

Finalists will be announced in mid-September.

The event is a fantastic networking opportunity for anyone involved in rural and regional communities to come and meet some of the leaders of the Victorian communications and media sectors.
