Ever wonder where those hip young kids are getting most of their news these days? Probably not, because we all already know: social media.

From Tik Tok to Instagram – and even on Facebook and X for you oldies –social media journalism has well and truly become a big deal. This isn’t just because videos posted on socials can garner massive amounts of views, it’s also about newsrooms finding fresh ways to connect with new audiences and share the stories that matter.

Major newsrooms across the world are now focussing on pushing out vertical videos, ensuring the journalism they are doing is reaching audiences of all ages, on all platforms and having a far greater impact.

At its heart, Vertical videos are just another way of doing what journalists have always done –informing and entertaining.
