The future direction of agriculture in Victoria will be debated during a Victorian Farmers Federation presidential candidate forum this month.

The virtual forum, hosted by the Rural Press Club of Victoria on Wednesday, November 18 at 10am, will be moderated by The Weekly Times journalist Kate Dowler.

Meet the candidates

Emma Germano

Emma Germano

Emma Germano is the managing director of her family’s mixed-farming operation in Victoria’s Gippsland region that produces brassica, potato and fodder crops, lamb and beef and supplies its own on-farm shop. Emma was awarded a Nuffield scholarship in 2014. She is currently the horticulture and vice president of the Victorian Farmers Federation.

Leonard Vallance

Leonard Vallance

Leonard Vallance runs a 9000 hectare beef and grain property at Ouyen, in the Mallee region of northwest Victoria, with his wife Faye and three sons. He is a former Cattle Council of Australia director and PrimeSafe chairman. He is currently the livestock president of the Victorian Farmers Federation and sits on its board.
