In front of a crowd of 100 Rural Press Club of Victoria members and associates, new Victorian Agriculture Minister Jaclyn Symes addressed questions about animal activists trespassing on farms.
The lunch event, held on April 10, came in the same week vegans staged protests in Australian cities against animal farming.
Ms Symes told the event animal activists were disrupting and intimidating farmers and were crossing the line between free speech and harassment.
She encouraged activists to meet a farmer on farm, and understand what goes into running a successful agricultural business.
